heart-valentines-dayValentine’s Day is a time that you need to not just think about the person that you are with, but you need to do something special for them.  Taking them on a vacation is a fantastic way to impress them and make sure that they know how special they are to you.  In this blog, we are going to talk about some of the greatest Valentine’s Day holidays for you to take!

One of the first places that you should take your sweetheart this February is Venice.  There are a ton of different things that you can do in Venice and certainly a lot of different hotels that you can stay at – specifically, the Grande Albergo Ausonia & Hungeria – that one is my favorite.

Remember, add in some spa services, breakfast in bed and take the long weekend off to celebrate your love!

svalbardHere’s a hot destination that might surprise you: Svalbard, which is in Norway. Norway is an amazingly rich country, and its Cold Coast is overflowing with the mystery of dark fjords and ancient legends. There are polar bear tours and an amazing number of outdoor and snow based sports.

Or, if you prefer warmer climates on your holidays, there is always Hawaii’s world renowned Big Island. Active volcanoes, exquisite beaches, and fewer crowds than you might imagine in many locations, this is a great place to relax.

Or heck, why not try a very far reaching destination and head to Tasmania? The Bay of Fire is little known but enormously relaxing — and enormously beautiful. Tucked away as it is, you will never have a dreamier vacation.

yunnanChina is another hot spot this year. Specifically, Yunnan, China, is shaping up to see one of those places that you absolutely just have to see. If Yunnan seems familiar to you, it may well because because the famed Tiger Leaping trek has its home there — that is where the legend began. Visitors to Yunnan can also enjoy plenty of tours of the jungle, not to mention rich, incredible landscapes that offer glimpses of ancient temples and charming towns. You never know what to expect here!

Or how about two of the main islands in Columbia, the islands of Providencia and San Andres? Forget what you think you know about Columbia, because these two islands are gorgeous, tourists are welcomed with open arms, and there are so many ways to relax you won’t ever want to leave.

Languedoc is a charming, wonderfully hidden spot with quaint hotels, lots of find dining, and even some fantastic cruise opportunities.

El Chalten, PatagoniaFinally, we have come to our last destination and I can tell you for sure that I am very, very excited about this one.  El Chalten, Patagonia is one place that while your cell phone won’t work and the town has a very limited availability, you will find that this particular town is worth the wait – and worth booking in advance.

El Chalten, Patagonia is one of the few places that have incredible hiking right in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares and is actually a UNESCO World Heritage site, which in and of itself is something beautiful … and awesome.

If you are an avid hiker and looking to take the ultimate hike, El Chalten, Patagonia is the place you should be.

Nairn, ScotlandAlthough Mexico is absolutely breathtaking, let’s go ahead and talk about somewhere overseas now and a destination that is going to be extremely hot in 2010.  Nairn, Scotland is the destination and I can tell you for sure that this small, seaside town is going to be filled with tons of tourists.

Nairn, Scotland is one of the sunniest climates in Scotland and is the perfect base when you are looking to explore the Highlands.  I can tell you for sure that when you are looking to go some place magical, some place beautiful and some place that breeds beautiful people, Nairn, Scotland is the place.

It is charming, small and all around one of those places that is almost right out of a really good fairytale book.

December 25th, 2009 · No Comments

super-shuttle-1If you are going to be flying in one of the many – well, 33 airports that SuperShuttle services, then you are in luck!  January through March, this particular shuttle service is going to give you a break and going to become a lot cheaper than you remember; the dates are January 1st through March 15th.

Through those dates, SuperShuttle is offering up a 15 percent discount on transportation to residential customers who book roundtrip transportation to and from the airport.  Pricing is obviously going to vary according to the airport number of passengers in your party and the type of transportation, but you still get the discount.

For example, with the discount, you will pay just about $28.90 per trip, which is a heck of a lot cheaper than a cab!
