Then you have absolutely got to know about Barbados. It is absolutely the best place to go to enjoy the best winter sun. It is popular, it is quite easily accessible, and it is nothing less than a classic destination.

While Barbados is known for showers during the summer months, those are over and done with by the time the winter arrives. We are talking temperatures reaching the 80s here, people.

On the posh west side, you can find the best hotels — this is the side of Barbados known as the Platinum Coast, after all.

If you want simplicity, you can find that. If you want high class luxury, you can find that too.

Anguilla is an excellent place for that. There are few diversions but plenty of temptations. There are thirty three beaches and greater than seventy restaurants. There are some of the finest wine cellars in the whole Caribbean.

There are fantastic spas, beautiful art, and stunning views. Without a doubt, this is precisely the place to go if you like your relaxation paired with a whole lot of luxury.

There is a reason Robert De Niro loves Anguilla so much, you know.

We have all heard about St. Bart’s. Maybe you know it as St. Barth’s. Maybe you know it as St. Barthelemy. Whatever the case and whatever the moniker, this is the same Caribbean paradise which has become the “it” destination for quite a number of celebrities and famous people, from actors to musicians to writers to directors and so on.

Fondly known as St. Bart’s, this warm paradise is actually a portion of the famed French West Indies. It is located to the north of the lesser Antilles, which is itself near Nevis, St. Kitts, and St. Martin. St. Bart’s is a comparably small island, comprised of merely eight square miles. The fact that it is so small and insulated is part of the reason it is so exclusive.

Characterized by pristine white beaches, cerulean seas, and exquisite coral reefs, St. Bart’s has been described as being less like the Caribbean, more like the decadent, soothing South of France.

The similarities do not end there. Many residents of St. Bart’s speak French, and the island’s currency is understandably represented by the Euro.

All the same, visitors from all over the world flock to this Caribbean island, to relax on the beach, enjoy the night life, and generally have the holiday of their dreams.

The Virgin Islands is an archipelago in the Caribbean Sea. The Islands are divided into the British Virgin Islands, the US Virgin Islands and the Spanish Virgin Island (Puerto Rican territory). The US Virgin Island consist of St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix, Water Island, and many smaller islands. The British part consists of the islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke and many smaller islands and cays. Culebra and Vieques, and numerous smaller islands and islets form the Spanish Virgin Islands. Temperature is warm all year round, but during August and September a tropical storm is always possible.

You can enter the islands through St. Thomas, St. Croix or Tortola Airports (usually taking off from San Juan in Puerto Rico) or take a cruise to arrive in one of the main harbours on the islands. You can then take a ferry to the islands in the region. If looking for cheap flights searching at Expedia, Orbitz, Travel Zoo and Travelocity might be helpful.

The Islands have many cultural and historic sites to visit. There are also several national parks, wildlife and ecological reserves. Whether on land or in the water, a great variety of activities is possible: swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving; sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, hiking and bird watching; or just admiring the coral reefs, the turquoise sea, and the magnificent scenery. The Virgin Islands are a true paradise to spend your holiday.

For a teaser – check out this video of a wedding in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands – it’s so cozy!

Trinidad and Tobago are the two most southern Caribbean islands only 11km of the Venezuelan Coast. The country also counts 21 smaller islands. The climate is tropical with the first six months of the year being the dry season. Trinidad is the highest populated island and the main towns are situated on this Island. Port of Spain is the Capital and mayor port of the country. Nicholas Tower, a 21 store high building is known up till now to be the highest building in the country.

San Fernando (in the Gulf of Paria) with the petrol industry to its north, and Chaguanas in the centre are the largest cities in the country. The Island of Trinidad is by far best known to tourists and has a wide range of activities. If you want to explore nature, the northern Range and coast will be your favourite destination. Reserves like Asa Wright Nature Centre, Mount St. Benedict, Caroni Nature Reserve and Nariva Swamp will be places to discover. But if you want to enjoy the Caribbean Beaches than Maracs, Las Cuevas, Mayaro and Manzanilla would be your favourite destinations. Best facilities for sailing and water sports can be found on the peninsula of Chaguaramas and the offshore islands.

Tobago can be seen as the natural Reserve of the country, its nature being untouched, the interior covered with rain forest. Its palm-lined beaches and pristine coral reefs are of the best found in the Caribbean. Between Crown Point and Plymouth: Store Bay, Buccoo Reef (Reserve), Pigeon Point, Turtle Beach, Canoe Bay. At the Leeward coast: Culloden Beach, King Peter’s Bay, Englishman’s Bay, Bloody Bay and at the Windward Cost: Granby Point, Richmond Beach, Bellevue Bay, King’s Bay, Pirate’s Bay. Away from the beaches you can explore the Tobago Forest Reserve and visit Argyle Falls or Flagstaff Hill. But make sure to get a guide so you’ll be able to fully enjoy this marvellous nature.

Saint Kitts and Nevis (Capital Basseterre) located within the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean Sea are of volcanic origin. The highest peak on the islands is the dormant volcano Mount Liamuiga (1156m). The hills are mostly covered with jungle. There are many rivers descending these slopes and providing the islands with fresh water. The majority of the people live close to the coasts, where the land is fertile. What make these islands so popular are its tranquil, beautiful and uncrowded Caribbean beaches. In St Kitts, beaches like Friar’s Bay, Cockleshell Bay and Banana Bay on the Southeast Peninsula, are great places to discover.

On Nevis you’ll find Pinney’s Beach, Oualie Beach and Cades Bay to be the top locations. But if you like to explore a rougher coastline, the Atlantic beaches such as North Frigate Bay, Sand Bank Bay and Mosquito Bay (Turtle Beach) may be more to your liking. Discovering the central part of the islands on an adventurous hiking tour or a safari tour is also a great experience. Here you can enjoy the splendour of nature’s beauty. Superb hotel accommodations are available in the many hotel resorts or in one of the Plantation Inns. Another great way of visiting and exploring the architectural and historical beauty of the islands is by making a Caribbean cruise and see the spectacular scenic beauty of these islands and enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of the Kittitian and Nevisian people.

The Dominican Republic shares the Caribbean island of Hispaniola with its neighbour Haiti. It is a mountainous country with rain forests, fertile valleys, deserts, rocky cliffs and high mountain peaks like Pico Duarte. Still, its is known worldwide for its Beach Resorts. Names like Barahona, La Romana, Puerto Plata, Sosua, all evoke the images of First Class Beach Resorts en hotels with gorgeous beaches.

Fishing, scuba-diving, snorkelling, horseback riding, golf; the Dominican Republic is also a place for an active holiday. The two inland cities Constanza and Jarabacoa are the gate to the Central Mountain Range. The Aguas Blancas and Salto de Jimenoa are two of the numerous waterfalls that can be spotted in this area. This would be the perfect area for mountain trekking.

Santo Domingo, Capital and oldest city of the country, has a Spanish Colonial Architecture. Here you can wander about the cobble stone streets, look for an exquisite restaurant and enjoy the splendour of a true Caribbean city.

Aruba is a 32km (19.6 miles) long Caribbean Island north of Venezuela. It is still a member of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Oranjestad is the Capital, it was built around Fort Zoutman (built in 1796 by the Dutch) and has been the capital of the island ever since. Aruba is famous for its white sandy beaches which are located to the south and west of the island. The interior of the island is desert-like, the Atlantic northern shores, rugged and wild.

So, if you like the sea, Aruba is the place to be: swimming, surfing, snorkelling, diving, and banana boating, parasailing, underwater tours, it can all be arranged. But if you like some distraction from the sea, golf, a safari tour to the National Park, quad racing, mountain bike or horseback riding, a countless number of daytime activities can be arranged both for adults and children. You will find first class accommodation that will meet anyone’s wishes. You will be served by nice, friendly people who will do anything to grant you your holiday wishes. They will serve you the best food you’ve had in years. Aruba feels like paradise.
