Let’s Plan Our Holiday

You simply cannot keep a good city down, no matter how hard you try.  For that matter, New Orleans is more than just a city.  It is an institution.  It is a piece of history richer than the sweetest dish of creme brulee, more exciting than the wildest celebration of Fat Tuesday’s to ever take place.  Hurricane Katrina may have tried to take this city down, but people all over the United States — indeed, all over the world, just about — banded together to help rebuild it and make it even better than what it was.

New Orleans is a phoenix, rising from the ashes of tragedy even stronger than it has ever been.  That is reason enough for New Orleans to make this top 5 list, but it is certainly not the only reason this vibrant, culturally rich city is the perfect location of a warm winter holiday.

If you wait a little while longer, for instance, you could have the opportunity to experience Mardi Gras, which is definitely something all of us should try to do at least once in our lifetime.  Not only that, but you will get to experience history.  You will have the unique distinction of paying homage to the past while seeing what the future has in store.
