Austria is known as a mountainous country due to its location in the Alps, only about 32% of the total area is below 500m. Subsequently this country is has a wide variety of holiday offers. Places to visit: the Imperial Palace - Hofburg, Schönbrunn Palace, St. Stephen ’s Cathedral, the Spanish Riding School, the Giant Ferris Wheel, the Imperial Burial Vault. Vienna is also the capital of music. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert, are amongst the most famous composers who lived and worked in this city. Four opera houses witness the importance of music to this city.
The old city of Salzburg is a true architectural delight. A walk through the narrow streets of old Salzburg features buildings from the Middle Ages, Romanesque, Baroque and Renaissance periods. Places to visit: the Cathedral, Hohensalzburg Fortress, St. Peter’s Monastery and cemetery, the Franciscan Church, the Large and Small Festival Halls, Mirabell Palace and Gardens. The old city has many splendid facets.
